On Saturday, December 8, 2018 members of the American Legion, Department of Georgia visited the Fisher House.
The American Legion Department of Georgia Commander and the American Legion Department of Georgia President along with other American Legion Members were greeted by COL David E. Ristedt, DDEAMC Commander, Mrs. Kelley Ristedt and CSM William E. Allen, DDEAMC CSM, and Mr. Francisco Cruz, Fisher House Manager.
Just prior to the American Legions’ arrival the DDEAMC Commander and DDEAMC CSM were able to talk to some Fisher House Families (Brittain Family, Baul Family, Bogan Family and Payton Family) that were present for the American Legion Members visit.
The American Legion members were given a self-guided tour and briefing of the Fisher House and they had the opportunity to speak to Fisher House Families staying at the Fisher House. The American Legion Department of Georgia Commander along with the past American Legion of Georgia President presented COL Ristedt and CSM Allen with an American Legion 100 Year Coin. Through the spirit of giving the Military Service Members and their Families from INSCOM PED Battalion chose to donate $250.00 to the Fort Gordon Fisher House on December 20, 2018.
The contribution was raised by the INSCOM PED Battalion Military Service Members and their Families by making, and decorating wreaths that they used as their center pieces at their holiday party event, which they later auctioned.

As the Holiday Season is in full swing, we at the Fort Belvoir Fisher House want to thank our community for their services and time. We have had many meals prepared and donated to our families. We have received donations of household products that we use to run our home. We have received monetary donations and donations of DVD’s and blankets. We received bake goods, pizza, flowers, dinners, and holiday cards. Donations of your time for “Spring Cleaning” and “Family Game Night” are very much welcomed and appreciated. So to our community we offer a heartfelt and much deserved THANK YOU! Have a safe and happy holiday season!
What a great way to end a Friday- with a visit from our friends over in the Department of Neurology (William Beaumont Medical Center) coming by for a tour! ❤️ We are so thankful for our hospital family taking the time to learn more about the Fisher House.
Thank you to the Cape Fear Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) for their donation of $750. We greatly appreciate and enjoy when Art and Argie Rodriguez come by. A lovely couple and thank you Art for your service to our country and continued support by the CFC MOAA to the families residing at the Fort Bragg Fisher House.
We had a visit of the National Junior Honors Society from Albritton Middle School. They were so excited to come by the Fisher House with treats for the families. Thanks kiddos for the excitement and desire to donate time, effort, and your compassion to others. Great Job!!!! Always welcome.
